MoveIt Pro Major Releases & LTS
Each major MoveIt Pro release targets one or more ROS 2 distributions and is supported for one year after its final minor release. The table below records what shipped when and how long each line is supported; the release cycle and support policy behind those dates is at the bottom of this page.

The distributions above are the ones MoveIt Pro runs internally. They are pre-installed in the MoveIt Pro Docker containers, so they do not have to match, and do not constrain, the Ubuntu version on your host. See Technical Specifications for host requirements.
Release History
MoveIt Pro 10
The MoveIt Pro Desktop App, vision-language-action policy execution on real robots, demonstration data collection and cloud training, tiling view panes, and optional authentication on the web endpoints. Drops ROS 2 Humble.
MoveIt Pro 9
A fully redesigned user interface, Joint Jog teleoperation on a new Joint Velocity controller with online collision checking, and scan-and-plan for spraying and surface treatment. The first line to offer ROS 2 Jazzy builds, from 9.1.0.
MoveIt Pro 8
Revamped pose jog teleoperation, learned grasp generation, multi-tip path inverse kinematics, and the integration of Fuse for state estimation.
MoveIt Pro 7
A built-in pose inverse kinematics solver that is an order of magnitude faster than the open-source alternatives, trajectory stitching in the admittance controller, and a unified sidebar that stays open while the robot executes.
MoveIt Pro 6
The MoveIt Pro Simulator arrived on the MuJoCo physics engine, alongside the Pro RRTConnect planner and a reworked robot configuration parser.

Release Cycle and Long Term Support
MoveIt Pro follows a structured release cycle designed to balance innovation with stability for production deployments:
- Minor releases are delivered every 2 to 4 weeks, providing new features, improvements, and bug fixes.
- Major releases are delivered every 3 to 9 months, introducing significant new capabilities and architectural improvements.
- LTS coverage lasts 1 year for the last minor release version of every major release. This includes critical bug fixes and security patches to ensure production stability.
- For customers who need more than 1 year of LTS, we can discuss custom support options tailored to your specific requirements.
The support window starts the day that final minor first shipped, and covers it with patch releases so customers have a stable foundation while the next major line is developed. The table above records each major release's final minor, the ROS 2 distributions it targets, and the date its support window ends.
For customers with a MoveIt Pro Runtime license in production, PickNik will, during that window:
- Fix Severity 1 issues within 10 business days of confirmation. A Severity 1 issue is a critical problem that directly impacts production use and has no reasonable workaround, including critical security vulnerabilities that could put your systems at risk. Fixes ship as needed rather than waiting for the next scheduled release.
- Patch critical third-party vulnerabilities within 10 business days of an upstream fix. For vulnerabilities in third-party components we follow the severity classifications in the NIST National Vulnerability Database. Once an upstream fix for a critical vulnerability (CVSS v3.1 base score 9.0-10.0) is available, PickNik incorporates the patch, rebuilds, and releases an updated container image. Lower-severity vulnerabilities are addressed in the course of regular release cycles.
PickNik monitors the National Vulnerability Database and vendor advisories continuously. Where no upstream fix exists yet, we evaluate mitigations and communicate recommended workarounds to affected customers where feasible.
